समाजवादी पार्टी के कार्यकारी प्रदेश अध्यक्ष महंत शुभम गिरी ने सरकार और प्रशासन से पौराणिक भीमगोड़ा कुंड की हालत सुधारने की मांग की है। प्रैस को जारी बयान में महंत शुभम गिरी ने कहा कि पौराणिक महत्व वाले भीमगोड़ा कुंड की हालत जर्जर हो चुकी हे। वहां लगी भीम की प्रतिमा भी क्षतिग्रस्त है। भीमगोड़ा कुंड और भीम की प्रतिमा की हालत सुधारने के लिए सरकार और प्रशासन को तुरंत कदम उठाने चाहिए। महंत शुभम गिरी ने कहा कि भीमगोड़ा कुंड केवल धार्मिक स्थल नहीं, बल्कि आस्था और इतिहास का प्रतीक है, लेकिन वर्षों से इसकी दशा सुधरने के बजाय और बिगड़ती जा रही है। उन्होंने कहा कि यह प्रशासनिक संवेदनहीनता का जीवंत उदाहरण है। उन्होंने मांग की कि भीमगोड़ा कुंड को नमामि गंगे योजना के अंतर्गत शामिल कर व्यापक सौंदर्यीकरण कराया जाए, ताकि श्रद्धालुओं को सुविधाएं मिलें और पौराणिक धरोहर संरक्षित रह सके। महंत शुभम गिरी ने कहा कि वह पहले भी इस मुद्दे को उठा चुके हैं और अब यदि शीघ्र संज्ञान नहीं लिया गया तो बड़ा आंदोलन किया जाएगा।
